TIC - Singapore
Smaller than the smallest U.S. state, the sovereign city-state of Singapore sits on an island at the southern tip of the Malay peninsula. Its history includes occupation by the Portuguese, Dutch, British, and Japanese. And, for a few years, it was part of Malaysia. Its diversity is evident from its four official languages: English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. It's clean, safe, efficient, vibrant, and innovative.
Presented by Paul Pacter - Paul retired to Florida in 2018 from a 50-year career in accounting. That included 25 years as a staff member, then Board member, of the International Accounting Standards Board in London. His IASB work took him to over 70 countries. He visited another 20 or so on holidays. Paul lived more than 25 years overseas, including 20 in Hong Kong. He is author or co-author of seven books and has published over 100 professional monographs and articles. He says: "You're never too old to become enchanted with Florida's Everglades and swamps."
