Enrollment is limited. The designated "place" of the African American, legally and by custom in the American social hierarchy has been one of subservience and 2nd class citizenship. What has occurred historically when African Americans have either forgotten or protested their "place" in American society? These discussions will focus on the white backlash that has occurred related to African American progress and protest. Related excerpts from Dr. Bireda's forthcoming book, A Time for Change: How White Supremacy Culture Hurts All Americans, will be shared. Moderator: Dr. Martha Bireda
