Origins of Machine Learning
Since 1949, a popular phrase that has been seen almost everywhere in colleges, universities and industry is "machine learning." Over the years, the popularity of machine learning led to other phrases such as artificial intelligence, deep learning and eventually data science. However, there is a significant overlap between the study of statistics and machine learning.
