FGCU Academy - Recovering Ethics in America
Recovering Ethics in America
For decades, ethics was taught in universities and corporate training programs from a "negative" standpoint, meaning that the course content focused on what people shouldn't do. When that approach was finally evaluated, research found that this method resulted in no positive ethical action by people who received such training or education. Today, we know that "positive" ethics does change behavior. Positive ethics focuses on doing the right thing by fostering virtues. This lecture also includes the technique of Giving Voice to Values, an approach that has revolutionized ethics recently.
