The Magnificent Shells of Florida
Shells have been a part of many cultures for millennia. In modern times collecting shells on the beach, or shelling, has become a very popular hobby especially in southwest Florida. Most new, and even experienced, shellers have many questions on ways to improve their chances of finding exquisite shells. Some of the topics that will be covered in this lecture include: Where and when to go shelling; how to "read" the beach; methods and tools for shelling; how to identify southwest Florida shells; and how to clean, display and preserve shells.
