Hooked on Books: A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith
HOOKED ON BOOKS
“No two persons ever read the same book” (Edmund Wilson). Well, members of Hooked on Books do have the same titles on our “to-read” list, but we certainly bring our different readings of those works to our monthly meetings. Come share your ideas with us at our lively gatherings. We get together October through April/May at 4:00 pm in the Enrichment Center on the second Tuesday of the month. Our March meeting is special: we invite an author who resides in or is visiting the area to come talk about the writing process and about the works s/he has written. We are excited to announce that this year’s guest presenter, on March 14, is Pauline Hayton (see https://www.amazon.com/Pauline-Hayton/e/B003YGSLJY).
October 11 A Land Remembered, by Patrick Smith
November 8 (Election Day) Clementine: The Life of Mrs. Winston Churchill, by Sonia Purnell
December 13 My Name Is Lucy Barton, by Elizabeth Strout.
*At the October meeting we will be selecting the readings for January, February, and April.
