Meet a Survivor of the Holocaust: Michael Eisenstadt

Michael Eisenstadt was born in the Free City of Danzig, today known as Gdansk. He grew up there, and was an eye-witness who saw Hitler who visited Danzig after Kristallnacht. He recalls a train ride and looking back to see his father waving from the platform. That was the last time any of them saw his father who was unable to leave Danzig because he was Polish-born while Michael, his brother, and mother were all German-born. He went on to become a diplomat and splits his time between New York City and Naples.
