In this lecture, we will discuss what democratic socialism is and why it’s gaining popularity. The lecture will also feature a brief discussion of capitalism, democracy, socialism, communism, and social democracy. Topics will include: Bernie Sanders; FDR’s New Deal; Venezuela; the Nordic Model; European social democracies; Milton Friedman; minimum wage; “free” stuff; and government effectiveness.
