Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism

Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism are both current forces in American religion. Both trace their roots back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Both consider the Bible to be the primary authority in the life of the Christian. In recent times both have exerted a significant influence on the cultural issues of our time. What exactly are these movements? What are their special emphases and what are their prospects for shaping the Christian faith in the future? These questions and others will serve as the basis for this course.
