Participants may register for the series (BR7646) or for any individual lectures below. Enrollment is limited. This course has a workbook available for $10, payable to the instructor at the start of class. Join us as we explore the decorating techniques known and practiced by professional decorators. Our series will cover interior design basics, color, lighting, and how they can transform the smallest room or an entire home. Instructor: Sharon Breay

Basics of Interior Design
This class has a workbook available for $10, payable to the instructor at the start of class. Learn the secret principles behind every good interior design. Learn the first considerations a professional interior designer addresses on a design project. Learn principles that not only make a room look good, but also make it functional, and relaxing (or exciting, if that is the aim). Practice and take home six basic principles of design, and begin using them to complete your own project.

Color in the 21st Century
This class has a workbook available for $10, payable to the instructor at the start of class. Ever wonder if you’re using color correctly, and if the colors used are the best for you? Learn how to create the ideal color scheme for “your own” personality and setting. Be amazed by examples of how colors change in relation to one another. Learn why color trends don’t work. Fun in-class exercises give you the ability to create your own color schemes.

Lighting: The Most Important Aspect of Interior Design
This class has a workbook available for $10, payable to the instructor at the start of class. Lighting is the most important part of designing our interiors (and exteriors, too!). Yet, it is the most misunderstood and overlooked aspect of design! Learn how lighting will visually change the shape of your room, create the mood you wish, and add to the beauty of your home. Learn where to place it and why, and the best fixtures and bulbs for the space being designed.
