Napoleon in Egypt
In 1798, Napoleon Bonaparte was a rising star in France. But Napoleon wanted to bolster his image by winning glory in a far off exotic land – like Egypt. With soldiers to fight and scholars to study, Napoleon made his Egyptian expedition, fighting not only in Egypt and Syria, but also against their enemy England. The campaign is rich with drama, inspiration, and irony, and Dr. Franz will even share a little-known love story. Instructor: Dr. Gerald Franz
