Elder Law focuses on those issues which affect the elderly and their families. It encompasses a broad understanding of aging and the law and coordinates a client's estate plan with their long-term care plan. Elder law includes consideration of the following: Durable Power of Attorney; Qualified Income Trusts; Health Care Surrogate Designations; Living Wills and Advance Directives; HIPPA designations and releases; Planning for long term care and Medicaid; Asset preservation; Residential alternatives; Special Needs Trusts for Disabled individuals; Estate, gift and income tax issues; Trusts; Wills; Probate and Trust administration; Long Term Care Insurance; and Personal Service Contracts. - Online programs are typically 60 minutes of lecture with 15 minutes of Q&A at the END of the presentation. Students will be able to type questions into the system at any time during the presentation.
- No software or downloads are required. Students can participate using a desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
