Participants will travel around the world on a journey to discover the different cultural
traditions and methods used by doctoring women. Explore herbal traditions, body traditions
and handcrafting traditions (making herbal medicines). The first organized system of herbal and
medicinal science came out of Africa; in this class we will explore the African philosophy of
health and nutrition. We will also examine the Yoruba science of healing.
