Ever wonder why some long-ago movie stars are instantly recognizable today? Many would say it is a "look." Gene Kelly's V-neck sweaters. Joan Crawford's daunting eyebrows. Charlie Chaplin's mustache, cane, and bowler hat. Thanks to a unique "look," actors and actresses of the past projected a distinct persona that helped make them icons in their day… and remembered long after. With dazzling vintage photographs and insights from a former fashion columnist, this presentation explores the ways superstars from the Golden Age of Hollywood and beyond perfected a scrupulously controlled image that transcends time. Instructor: Catherine Fitzpatrick
