Operation Underworld: World War II Mob Alliances

As the U.S. entered WWII, the U.S. Navy covertly elicited the aid of the Mob to stop spies, saboteurs, and dock strikes. Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Albert Anastasia, and others answered the call. We will discuss what led to the alliance, the impact, and the aftermath.
