The Kingdom of Thailand

Thailand is affectionately known as “The Land of Smiles” which is symbolic and typical of the welcoming disposition and pleasant attitude of the citizens. The concept of “sanuk,” the idea that life should be fun will be explored as part of the cultural review. This lecture will also delve into the ancient history and origins of the country, government structure, and current events including the most recent political upheavals. Photographs of the Thai countryside will be shown, along with a variety of artifacts and handouts. Instructor: Lyle Bultman
