The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens Tour - CANCELLED
Since opening in 1977, Morikami has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida. Discover the origins of the Yamato Colony, a Japanese farming community in South Florida 100 years ago, and get a glimpse of Japan Through the Eyes of a Child at the museum’s two permanent exhibits. Stroll the Bonsai Walk exhibition showcasing bonsai of varied styles and ages. Near the end of the bonsai exhibit you’ll also find a koi feeding area and turtle island. Enjoy the docent-led tour of the museum and the Seishin-an Tea House. Upon arriving you may tour the Gardens on your own. Lunch will be at the Cornell Café, a Japanese restaurant, which has been featured on the Food Network and we will enjoy a beautiful Japanese Bento Box featuring a selection of their most popular dishes. Following lunch we have a docent led Tour of Museum Galleries & Seishin-an Tea House.
