ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CRIMINAL LAW AND A TRIAL IN THE COURTROOM
Mickey Winograd was Head of the Office of the Public Defender for Hudson and Essex Counties in New Jersey, 1972-1993, Lead Counsel in all NJ death penalty cases, 1986-1992, and in private practice in NJ 1959-1972. Mickey has been involved in headline- making cases and can vividly and memorably illustrate what really happens in a criminal trial.
Before becoming a lawyer and working within the court system, Mickey excelled on another court: as a member of the NIT Championship Team of 1955, Duquesne University, and Captain of the American Basketball Team for the Israeli Maccabee Games of 1957 (they won). Although he was drafted by the NBA, he chose to go to Fordham Law School instead. Now listen to him recount tales of his courtroom trials.
