Introduction to Abstract Art
Facilitator: Lisa Batch

Have you been curious about painting abstract art but don't feel comfortable trying it? Is the subject matter or size of the canvas intimidating? Lisa Batch, who has studied with Theresa Girard, Brenda Belfield, Bill McLane, and Aivars Zandbergs, and whose paintings have sold in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida, will steer you towards a successful first attempt. Own the canvas and make a strong or delicate (or both) statement! Lisa will explain the basics and cover terms like scraping, clouding, layering, and marking. Enjoy the freedom of creating without the limitations of conventional painting!

$25 supply fee to be paid directly to Lisa Batch at the beginning of class. Supplies include acrylic paints, brushes, mediums, tools, palettes and canvases, as well as Lisa's attention. Each student will go home with a canvas of their work.
