Description: Da Vinci was born an illegitimate son, but became a mathematician, engineer, scientist, artist, and inventor. Unfortunately, only 15 of his paintings have survived, but hundreds of his drawings have endured. Da Vinci was the first artist to use consistent values in color and form. Dean Oestreich will demonstrate the artist’s ability to record the flow of light over objects, creating convincing shadow shapes and bringing depth and life to drawings.

Designed for: Members interested in learning more about painting and the life and professional works created by Leonardo da Vinci.

Facilitator: Dean Oestreich, guest facilitator
