Show Me Something New (A Talk/Conversation)
Artist John Carroll Long and Architect Andrea Clark Brown will illustrate their practice of eliminating limitations, exercising "permissions" necessary to suspend a fear of risk-taking and discuss the recognition of the merits of "difference" that can turn something ordinary into extraordinary. Their design works and artistic processes each follow a favorite axiom often expressed by Artist Long, that is: "Be Aware, Dare, Share, and Care." The two are owners of UP Art and Design Gallery in Naples, Florida, and both are equipped with a thorough understanding of "the rules" of their arts, yet stand to challenge them to break into new, delightful, and unexpected territory.
