WORLD WETLANDS DAY: EVERGLADES UPDATE
World Wetlands Day is actually February 2, but come on the 1st to hear about the latest proposals to restore the Everglades, the most revered wetland in the United States. Bill Mitsch, Eminent Scholar and Director, Everglades Wetland Research Park in Naples and Sproul Chair for Southwest Florida Habitat Restoration at Florida Gulf Coast University (and professor emeritus at The Ohio State University), has won multiple national and international awards, including the Stockholm Water Prize, for his pioneering research on wetlands and for his classic text, Wetlands. The Everglades must be fixed. Do we have the political will and ecological understanding to do it correctly?
Friday, February 1st
10:00 am to 11:30 am
Complimentary – reservations are required
